Kim Soo Hyun’s lawyer demands proof behind alleged KakaoTalk claims involving late actress Kim Sae Ron.

 Actor Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative, attorney Go Sang Rok of law firm Phil, has called on Garo Sero Institute host Kim Se Ui and the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron to publicly disclose the evidence supporting their recent claims.

On October 27, Go issued a statement via social media, saying,

“Please clearly present to the public the basis for identifying the individual in the KakaoTalk conversations from June 2016 and April 13, 2018, as actor Kim Soo Hyun.”

He further clarified that the photo Kim Sae Ron had uploaded and quickly deleted during the broadcast of Queen of Tears was taken in February 2020, during her second year of college, not in 2016 as alleged in the false online draft statement. Go emphasized,

“The late Kim Sae Ron, who knew this truth better than anyone, was distressed and took care to ensure that the document would not be leaked to the public.”

Go continued,

“Since I began representing Kim Soo Hyun and publicly refuted parts of their claims—while requesting that they disclose their so-called evidence on September 30—there has been complete silence for nearly a month.”

He also denied the authenticity of the KakaoTalk messages said to be between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun, describing them as fabricated. Go explained,

“At that time, Kim Soo Hyun was filming the movie Real. On June 22, he was on set at Yeongjongdo from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. shooting action scenes. He left his Seongsu-dong home at 5 a.m. and spent the entire day working, making it physically impossible for him to meet or schedule any other appointments that day.”

Concluding his statement, Go reiterated,

“I once again urge them to present concrete evidence identifying the person in the June 2016 and April 13, 2018 KakaoTalk chats as actor Kim Soo Hyun. I also request that Mr. Kim Se Ui submit the full contents of the group KakaoTalk chat he mentioned during his March 18 broadcast to the investigative authorities.”
