Comedian Park Na Rae is in mourning following the recent passing of her beloved grandmother. She is currently staying at a funeral home in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province, where she is receiving condolences from family, friends, and mourners.

According to News1 on June 9, Park has been quietly greeting visitors in sorrow ahead of the funeral procession, which is scheduled to take place on June 10.

Park Na Rae’s grandmother had once appeared on-screen with her in a heartwarming episode of the MBC variety show I Live Alone back in 2019, leaving a touching impression on viewers. More recently, in a December 2023 episode, Park reflected on her grandparents, saying:

“Every year, I used to eat the kimchi that my grandparents made,” she shared. “Now that my grandfather is gone and my grandmother is sick, I guess it’s time for me to start making my own.”

Her words at the time quietly signaled her grandmother’s declining health.

Park Na Rae, who debuted in 2006 through KBS’s 21st open recruitment for comedians, rose to fame through hit programs like Gag Concert and Comedy Big League. She later became a staple in the variety show scene, especially with shows like I Live Alone and Where Is My Home, endearing herself to fans with her wit and authenticity.
